Message from the Principal
Dear Smyrna and Prospective Families,
I welcome you to Smyrna Elementary School and our school website. I have worked in the field of education for over 20 years and served as a principal for more than 10 of those years. I hold certification in Elementary Education, Special Education, Reading Specialist, Educational Consultant, Principal, and Superintendent Administration.
I have been honored to serve as principal at Smyrna Elementary and look forward to continuing the work we are engaged in over the next several years. We work diligently to create a program that is personalized, caring, and high achieving.
Our school has a reputation for innovation, creativity, dedication, and excellence. We have a highly qualified and progressive teaching staff that is committed to providing our students with relevant and rigorous instruction. We work hard to reach each child academically as well as socially and emotionally.
Smyrna Elementary School has a very supportive and involved relationship with parents and the community. We believe that a strong partnership between our school, the community, each classroom, and home is critical to student and school success. We encourage and invite you to participate and volunteer in our school. Working together enhances the caring school environment that makes our school so special.
Smyrna Elementary is an outstanding environment. The focus for every child is academic, social, and emotional success. We encourage you to come visit our school, or to simply take a tour of our web page. You will see that Smyrna Elementary School truly is a great place to be!
Sincerely,
Dr. Adrian Oldham Ford

Distance Learning Links
While we're off for this extended break, check here for links to online resources you can use from home. Don't forget about our school challenges! Any student that completes at least 6 activities on the district choice board will get a dress down pass. The class that completes the most activities (K-2 & 3-5) will receive a pizza party upon our return to school. Our Exact Path challenge is a little different. Any student that completes at least 40 minutes of reading AND 40 minutes of math PER WEEK will receive a dress down pass. The class that has the most participation (K-2 & 3-5) will receive a pizza party upon our return. Students will need their email address and district password to access their backpack and Clever. All email addresses follow this pattern: firstname.lastname@stu.jefferson.kyschools.us. Please contact your child's teacher for help accessing your child's login information. You can also email Mrs. Massey (kerri.massey@jefferson.kyschools.us) or send a text to (502) 922-6145. We highly suggest using a Google Chrome Browser to access these sites. You can also download the Clever App.
